Game briefing
Sands is a browser-based Godot desert settlement sandbox centered on expressive, freeform world building. Sculpt dunes, paint terrain, place water and vegetation, and assemble homes, towers, walls, arches, roofs, canopies, paths, and props. Nearby pieces can connect and reshape into an organic miniature settlement, with ambient villagers, birds, carts, moving vegetation, weather, and changing day-to-night light bringing the diorama to life.
Current showcase build
Shape a tranquil desert settlement, stack sun-baked architecture, channel water into gardens, and discover postcard-perfect moments across a living oasis.
The cover, video and supplied screenshots show the current showcase build. This archived edition retains its original game destination and playing guide; gameplay may differ.

How to play
Shape a desert haven: sculpt a landscape, establish water and vegetation, then compose a settlement whose pieces connect into a miniature town.
Your first few minutes
- Sculpt dunes and paint contrasting terrain to make a basin, slopes, and routes for construction.
- Place water, then add vegetation around it to define the settlement's inviting edge.
- Assemble homes, towers, walls, arches, roofs, canopies, paths, and props. Bring pieces close so contextual connections reshape them into an organic cluster.
- Refine with transform, duplicate, delete, and undo/redo; frame the diorama, then use local save/load or scene import/export before a photo-mode view.
Editing and camera actions are confirmed, but no input mappings are documented. Use help UI; do not assume controls.
A little head start
- Build from terrain outward: a strong dune silhouette and one water source make later structures feel intentional.
- Use walls, arches, paths, and canopies to link homes and towers, then let contextual reshaping finish the joins.
- Save before experimenting so duplication, deletion, and undo/redo support bold revisions without losing the best layout.
Before you start
- A desktop or mobile browser capable of running the published Godot web build.
- The latest catalog check could not verify public access, so play may be unavailable.
